I think that Emily klled homer because she was afraid that he would leave her and she wanted to always be with him. SO, she killed him to always have him be there.
Back to Emily A's comment; The town was glad they had a reason to pity Emily after the house was left to her, but I didn't understand why they needed a reason like that to pity her, or why they need to pity her at all.
I think she killed Homer because she couldn't deal with the loss of another main male figure in her life and if she killed him she could keep him there and he couldn't do anything about it.
I think that the town always a curiosity about emily and they pittied her deat because they never knew her secrets, they judged her before they knew things.
I agree with Emily on why the story is called a rose for emily and also they found a rose in her house. Also, she kind of resembled a rose when it is beginging to bloom, is fully bloomed, and in the end dies.
I agree with Wes Homer had left one time before and she was once again locked up and so I wonder if she really did kill him becuase she wanted him to stay with her. That way she was assured that he would stay with her.
I think it was called the rose of Emily because a rose look sweet and nice just like Emily when she was young but rose also have thorn and they hurt when you get stuck and her can hurt a person.
could the house symbolize her heaven and hell. She keeps the corpse at the top of the house but she stays most of the time she was in the lower level maybe where she deserved pain of reality for what she did.
I think the town was worried about her because she had to take care of her house by herself and because after the death of her father many probably felt like she was unstable and an event like that can really affect someone. I agree with Eric B on what he said about her father's death.
yeah im pretty sure she was just a loon like the guy from tell tale heart. She can hide what shes done to other people but shell never be able to deny the truth from herself
Answering kelsie question, i think that she bought the wedding material because she wanted to marry him and stay with him forever, but she killed him to be married to him and be with him forever.
I agree with Lindsey because she kept refering to people who had been dead for a little while. It was almost like she didnt want to admit that people died. It is almost like she has anti-seperation disorder.
I'm not entirely sure that Emily killed Homer so that she could be with him for all time because when she died, she was downstairs in a bed. Had she really been so attached to him she may have tried to die in the bed with Homer.
I agree with adrienne, that her house resembled heaven and hell. The upstairs is where she kept Homer and that is where she wanted to be, like her heaven. When she was downstairs, she seemed depressed and angry about the events in her life.
I agree with myself because the rose is very fragile much like emilys emotional state. All it took was the slightest touch to make a petal fall much like how it took a slight thing to set her off
i dont think the scent is a true scent its probably just her mind playing tricks just like tell tale heart. He heard a heart beat she smells the dead man
I agree with kyle in a way because if she was so attached and wanted to be with him, why did she die next to him? I think that she finally realized what she had done and he would never be with her forever.
I liked Madisons comment about when the roses dye what does that symbolize? I was wondering the same thing. Does it mean that her depression is growing or that her health is fading?
She probably died cause she was living in a house with a dead person that had not been given proper burial procedures. Im sure that it played a crucial role in her death
As a response to Madison, I do not think she has a mental illness but I do believe that because of the hard life she had it made her different and confused.
I agree with Wes, because I think she killed Homer because she did not want him to leave and I think this is another reason why she is so depresed because she relized she did such a horrible thing.

She probably chose the aresenic because is would make sure he died.
Why is the story called "A Rose for Emily"?
Why do you think everyone in the town felt so bad for Emily? Did anyone feel like they some how could have ended up like Emily?
I think she killed him so it won't be painful or she didn't have the strength to kill him with her hands
Maybe she killed homer because she doesn't want him to leave
The fact that it the author doesn't come out and say she killed Homer ads to the mystery of it all.
Why would Emily want Homer Barron to go in a painful way?
I think that Emily was so depressed that she just wanted to end her life. She felt like she had no purpose in life anymore.
I think it is called "A Rose for Emily" because in the end everyone in the town gave Emily a flower at her funeral.
I agree with Wes on why she killed him. It was most likely because she was in love with Homer and never wanted him to leave.
I think that Emily klled homer because she was afraid that he would leave her and she wanted to always be with him. SO, she killed him to always have him be there.
I think Emily was lonely and she didn't want to be alone so she kill Homer so she want be alone.
I think that she wanted Homer to die in a painful way because he hurt her by not wanting to be with her and be married.

I think the rose symbolized Emily because it is a beautiful livly thing but once it dies it becomes an undesireable object
I think Mandy has a good thought when she says that she always wanted to be with him, so she killed him.
The loss of her father was a factor that made her very intriverted and secluded from the rest of the community
I agree with Wes Homer had left one time before and she was once again locked up and so I wonder if she really did kill him becuase she wanted him to stay with her. That way she was assured that he would stay with her.
Why was the town so worried about emily and her life?
i agree with kristin because she felt the only way to be with homer would to be killin herself much like the way he had died
I agree with Taylor. Once a rose dies, it really doesn't have much of a purpose, just like Emily, or so she thought.
Why does she buy all of the wedding materials, dress, suit, ect. if she was going to kill him?
Mandy thats a really good comparison with the way her Emily's life goes.
I think it was called the rose of Emily because a rose look sweet and nice just like Emily when she was young but rose also have thorn and they hurt when you get stuck and her can hurt a person.
I agree she chose the areseinc so that way it wouldn't be painful
Kelsie, i think that she bought the clothes to give the impression that they were married. Possibly to fool the townspeople.
could the house symbolize her heaven and hell. She keeps the corpse at the top of the house but she stays most of the time she was in the lower level maybe where she deserved pain of reality for what she did.

When the roses die, does it symbolize Emily's depression growing?
Answering kelsie question, i think that she bought the wedding material because she wanted to marry him and stay with him forever, but she killed him to be married to him and be with him forever.
Did she killherself, why wouldn't she die next to homer
She wants to preserve the beauty of something like marriage or a wedding day.
Living in a house with a dead body would be very mentally draining.
I agree with Mallory and Taylor, I think the rose represents Emily, and her life.
I agree with Lindsey because she kept refering to people who had been dead for a little while. It was almost like she didnt want to admit that people died. It is almost like she has anti-seperation disorder.
I didn't think about how she died. Could she have killed herself?
Did it say how Emily died?
I'm not entirely sure that Emily killed Homer so that she could be with him for all time because when she died, she was downstairs in a bed. Had she really been so attached to him she may have tried to die in the bed with Homer.
I agree with adrienne, that her house resembled heaven and hell. The upstairs is where she kept Homer and that is where she wanted to be, like her heaven. When she was downstairs, she seemed depressed and angry about the events in her life.
where is the proof or the part saying she did kill him?
The town seems pretty into everybody else's buisness. Sure, who wouldn't be curious about what was going on with Emily, but it's almost too much.
I know they didn't want to offend her but why not tell her that her house smelled bad?
I don't think it actually said how she died, but i think that she probably died from her own poison.
I agree with myself because the rose is very fragile much like emilys emotional state. All it took was the slightest touch to make a petal fall much like how it took a slight thing to set her off
It would be kinda hard to live with a corps but this is so important to her and she has to be around him
Is she a spoiled?
I don't understand how Emily could live in a house that smells and has dead people, and I don't understand why she would want to live alone.
It said that she got sick and died
Liviing in a house where someone still dead... would catagorized you as a crazy person thats for sure.
i dont think the scent is a true scent its probably just her mind playing tricks just like tell tale heart. He heard a heart beat she smells the dead man
how would you not notice that horrid smell and the fact no one wants to visit you because of it?
I agree with kyle in a way because if she was so attached and wanted to be with him, why did she die next to him? I think that she finally realized what she had done and he would never be with her forever.
I liked Madisons comment about when the roses dye what does that symbolize? I was wondering the same thing. Does it mean that her depression is growing or that her health is fading?
Why wasn't the story written in chronological order? Does the way the story was written symbolize a big picture?
She probably died cause she was living in a house with a dead person that had not been given proper burial procedures. Im sure that it played a crucial role in her death
I dont think the town excepted her when she is alive and so she lives alone and has no problem with it
I agree with Taylor. The roses are very fragile much like Emily. Emily becomes very emotionally unstable and she is breaking slowly.
I agree with taylor that a rose is very delicate and that resembles emily stature or personality.
she demonstrates a true catharsis
Answering emily i think that the author wanted to add a scense of disorder and confussion to the way that we view her life.
Do you think Emily has a mental illness? Is it because of her depressing life and the deaths in her life?
yadada true catharsis
I agree that Emily is like a rose she was so sweet and innocent but roses also have thorns which means there is an evil side.
As a response to Madison, I do not think she has a mental illness but I do believe that because of the hard life she had it made her different and confused.
I agree with Wes, because I think she killed Homer because she did not want him to leave and I think this is another reason why she is so depresed because she relized she did such a horrible thing.
