Is the Grandmother in a wheelchair?

carlys said...

What is the family's purpose of going to Florida in the first place?

Ehuck said...

I don't think that the grandmother is in a wheelchair

Catie Stacey said...

I think they just wanted to get children out of the house because they characters mentioned that the kids hadn't even seen northern tenessee

i couldn't find a deeper meaning to this story.i didn't like it. it was disturbing and wierd. and it was frusterating because you could guess what happend before it did. if there was a murderer around where you were going.umm..turn around and why would you go off into the woods with to creepers with guns..alone.????

Brianne D. said...

I agree, I don't think she was in a wheel chair because she walked out of the car.

nevermind guys! i figured out the wheelchair dilema!

the interperation of innocent has changed. Like our grandparents trust neighbors more and that are more willing to trust. Where our generation is more distrusting so we see very little innocent. We see that everything has a hint of evil in it.

Ya, where is the comon sence, who would willingly go in to the woods with two strangers.

Brianne D. said...

Do you think our generation is corrupt?

kendlet said...

ya it seems like a sick hobby and the fact that he has this little act of being "Mr. Nice guy makes it tens times creepier.

KelliL said...

I think that kids are corrupted these days because of the bad things that they are getting into. I think that the author gave the kids such names because he didn't want them to seem so important I guess you could say.

Unknown said...

What time do you guys think the story was in?

-About the kids being mean to the grandmother I was thinking they were so tired of her and her talking. And the parents did not talk because they knew that the grandmother was going to judge them and they were so tired of it.

Why do you guys think the mother and the grandmother didn't get names?

Ehuck said...

Why was religion brough so much into the story? Minus the fact that the grandma was trying to help out the Misfit there has to be a deeper meaning.

kendlet said...

this story makes our generation seem corrupt!i dont like it

carlys said...

Ya why would they go into the woods alone and the wife didn't make the connection that the gunshot in the woods where her family was, killed her family.

Nick Z said...

Why did the grandmother sudgest for the family to not go to florda because of the Misfit, but then she later tells them to take a side road on the way to florda, where they are murdered?

Unknown said...

Did the baby die? i did not get that part.

Eva said...

Carly, i think the family has been to Florida and it could just be a nice vacation spot.

Did anyone notice how the misfit kept speaking about his philosophies on life and his past? Yet he said that he wasn't religious. What was the Granmother's motive to talking to the Misfit? Did she think that she could stop him from shooting her entire family? How is it that while her children and grandchildren are dying she can still manage to keep a conversation with the criminal who is behind it all?

Ehuck said...

How does this story make our generation seem corrupt?

KelliL said...

I don't get why the grandma was freaking about the Misfit and not going to Florida.

JohnS said...

I blame the coruption of todays youth on tv and less parenting, like when our parents where children tv was new, and familys where close. Now tv channals are showing drug usege and bad behaviours, and parents have trouble getting close to their children do to jobs.

carlys said...

Nick brings up a good point. Don't you think that it was ironic that the grandmother was trying to get away from the misfit, and ended up running into him?

Eva said...

Kendle I think every generation is corrupt in some way. Let's not pretend that everything has been happy-go-lucking in this country's history.

kendlet said...

is the deeper meaning that you can't trust people these days and people aren't what they seem???

JohnS said...

I agree with Eva, every generation has its problems, so its not fair to say that the past generations where perfict.

Brianne D. said...

I think it was wierd that the family was so casual when they were going into the woods like nothing was going to happen they almost made it to easy for the misfit and his friends

Ehuck said...

Our generation alone is not corrupt. You can look through out history and see corruption. We are just being point out different cuorruptions that make us feel like we are more corrupt due to the fact that we have things that have never been seen in history.

Catie Stacey said...

I think the last couple of lines mean that people are only good and kind and willing to do good acts when they are going to lose someone or something the love, so people only do good things for a reward and not for the good of doing something right.

JohnS said...

Why again where they killed?

Ehuck said...

Is the grandma going through alzheimers?

Why did they even bring the cat?

kendlet said...

hey eva i like to think that everything is happy!haha i didn't like this story its just creepy. i don't know the meaning or point to it, and i think that the grandma might have something to do with this whole thing.and like the baby and other kids that got shot too. and whats w the whole "kids make me nervous"?

Nick Z said...

I think that the Misfit doesn't think he fits in with society because of his wierd relationship with religion. So aparently that makes him want to kill people.

kendlet said...

can someone explain what corrupt means???because it doesn't seem like im getting it

Ehuck said...

The Misfit almost seems almost polite to the grandma, like he would be a good man

carlys said...

Do you think "The Misfit" named himself, or gained it from other people?

Brianne D. said...

The idea of good was really promident in this story, because at the end they talked about she could have been a good women and the title was A Good Man is Hard to Find.

Eva said...

Oh Kendle you know those criminals. They just don't understand the little ones. It might have something to do with his past that influenced his animostiy towards the children.

John I think that THe Misfit is just a cold blooded killer. There is no reason to the madness and cruelty.

JohnS said...

This story makes me feal paranoid, its just so creepy, do to the fact that it could happen.
